Coming on a bit strong with the headline -- don't you think?
'Sober: do or die?'
Anybody who has spent time around somebody active in addiction would know the tipping-point separating 'alive today and dead tomorrow' could be as fine as a pin-point.
And if YOU are one who is still active in addiction and don't know the reality of 'sober saves -- addiction kills' then, my friend, you are in a dangerous state of ignorance or outright denial.
Alcoholism/addiction -- booze or drugs: makes no difference.
Be actively addicted and risk death.
Stay sober and survive longer.
"But, we're all gonna die someday!"
True but stupid thought. Immature and irresponsible.
How would I know?
Because there was a time (years ago) I would have thought that same thing.
Totally self-centered and selfish thinking.
Hmm... selfishness -- remind me to tell you about 'being selfish' someday.
I think I earned a PhD in 'selfish.'
By the way -- you know what PhD stands for...?
Piled High and Deep.
Anyhow -- I aim to keep these posts short because, if you're anything like me -- one idea is enough to absorb when reading a blog post.
The idea for today?
Stay sober -- it'll help you survive longer.
